  • Heat processes for the automotive industry
  • Heat processes for the food industry

UV light form Heraeus

UV Light Applications

  • Degradation of odours and greases in kitchen exhaust air
  • Industrial exhaust air treatment
  • Activation, cleaning and disinfection of surfaces

Product applications

  • Kitchen exhaust air cleaning with UV in gastronomy

Grease deposits in extractor hoods and exhaust air ducts of commercial kitchens cause high cleaning costs, severe odour nuisances and increased fire hazards. Treatment with high-energy UV radiation photolyses, destroys and neutralises the molecules of greases and odours. This keeps the surface of the extractor hood clean and substantially facilitates the cleaning of the exhaust air duct. Where daily cleaning by hand was required before, the exhaust air duct now needs almost no manual cleaning at all.

  • Industrial exhaust air treatment with UV

Industrial exhaust air treatment with UV

UV light is an energy-saving and environmentally-friendly solution to decompose odours and clean exhaust air. The process needs neither chemicals nor high temperatures. In combination with natural oxygen (O2), UV light creates highly reactive radicals and ozone. These radicals bind to organic substances such as solvents and oxidise them. The air pollutants such as odours, solvents (VOCs) and chemicals are eliminated in the oxidation process.

Odours are reduced by 95% if UV oxidation is combined with other methods such as electrostatic precipitation, mechanical filtration or non-thermal plasma.

  • UVC disinfection of packaging materials and surfaces

UVC disinfection of packaging materials and surfaces

Detrimental germs such as bacteria, yeasts and fungi need to be completely removed during the production of food. UVC disinfection is a purely dry and chemicals-free method that reduces the germ load by 99.9% (germ reduction rate log stage 3) in just a few seconds.

  • Infrared heat for food processing

    Infrared heat for food processing

Processing chocolate, filling candies, pre-browning instant meals or heating surfaces of foods: exact temperatures that avoid overheating of the food are required in the food processing industry. Infrared emitters transmit heat without contact and only as long as necessary.

Without preheating, and using energy efficiently, heat is delivered exactly when it is needed. Moreover, IR emitters react very quickly and can therefore be well controlled - an important precondition for the quality of food.

  • Infrared emitters for the automotive industry

Infrared emitters for the automotive industry

Your heat processes in the automotive industry: heating, drying, curing, welding, glueing, laminating, deburring. Numerous process challenges need to be met efficiently in the automotive industry-Infrared heat helps!

    Your advantages with infrared heat:

    • Infrared emitters are precisely adjusted with regard to voltage and power
    • They can precisely follow edges and rims
    • Short reaction times make infrared emitters well controllable
  • Infrared welding of plastics

    Infrared welding of plastics

Infrared welding of plastics is used in the most varied industrial processes. Induction pipes, fan components and tanks for brake fluid or cleaning water in cars must be able to withstand pressure. Often, such plastic pipes and containers are injection-moulded in the form of half shells which are then welded together. Infrared heat technology helps reliably connect the parts without causing particles inside the tubes.
